No, Reed Montgomery owner of Reeds Guide Service out of Birmingham, Alabama is not hanging up his rods yet…and he probably never will. Guiding on any lake in Alabama for over 50 years now for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass and some huge, striped bass, in Reeds eyes his recent illness…is only a tempoaray set back.
Reed still has many close friends, professional anglers and some very dependable and trustworthy friends that have guided with him on multi-boat fishing trips for many, many years. Reed also has a son, a full grown young man that loves to bass fish as well and he currently could take over the family guiding business today!
Reed has fished with three very dependable friends that can take any angler (in his place until he gets well by this spring!), to any lake in Alabama, on any day of the week, always with very good results. Each of these very experienced anglers are long time friends, having fished with Reed dozens of times and knowing where to go and what to throw. 
Including dozens of places to fish and various techniques and lure selections of thier own, that they are willing to share with any angler looking to go bass fishing on any lake in Alabama! Good humor, very knowledgable anglers, easy to get along with, full of fishing info, unlimited fishing tales and fishing stories of fishing trips with Reed that will keep you, not only very interested for more, but keep you laughing all throughout a most enjoyable day on the water!
Reed Montgomery as most of you know by now, has been diagnosed as a victim of Pancreatic Cancer. He has already had one operation and will have another soon with a gall bladder removal and removal of all of the cancer of the pancreas.
So January and February could not be a better time for Reed to recuperate and heal up from this very tedious, complicated, and life threatning surgery and then he can get back to his passion and his quest in his life, fishing. Taking anglers fishing and sharing the fishing knowledge he acquired with over 50 years of experience studying the bass found in every lake in Alabama!
